I can't access my portfolio.
You must use your FULL email address. Watch out for spaces,
too. Internet email addresses do not have ANY spaces in them!
Passwords are not case-sensitive. If you registered without
specifiying a password, then leave the password field blank. You
can always use the Update Profile button located at the top of
your portfolio to change passwords.
I want to update my email address or change
my password.
Use the Update Profile button located at the top of your
portfolio to change your password or email address. You can
actually change all your account information with this option.
Why do I have to keep twenty different
stocks in my portfolio?
For IIR's to be valid all portfolio's need to contain twenty
stocks.
Our nVESTOR program is about long term investment and bringing
attention to other viable companies available for investment. If
everyone was allowed to fill their portfolio with only a few
stocks, then nVESTOR is not doing the job it was designed to
do.
What are the differences between reality
and the game (e.g. brokerage fees for conducting the trade,
etc.)
In regards to straight forward stock trading, the only thing
missing are the fees and taxes. And those fees and taxes are
varied depending upon what service you use and where you live.
Our program is also set up for long term investments. As you
poke around the various investment sites on the web, you will find
that there are many types of short term investments (even for just
quick turnovers), but we have no intentions of supporting those
types of transactions.
Please explain why my portfolio's Current
Value changes immediately after making a trade while Player
Worth, IIR, Profit/Loss, and Percent
Change do not change.
The Current Value of your Portfolio only represents the
actual value of the twenty stocks listed in your Portfolio at that
time. A trade updates the information in your portfolio and is the
only change reflected.
For example: Your portfolio is worth $105,000 and you decide to
sell one of your stocks that is worth $9,000. You sell the $9,000
worth of stock and purchase $5,000 of another stock to replace it.
Your portfolio's Current Value has just dropped in value by
$4,000.
Does this mean that you just lost $4,000?
No.
You must keep in mind that your Player Worth reflects
the value of your portfolio PLUS any gains or losses you have
incurred. That is why your Player Worth, IIR,
Profit/Loss, and Percent Change do not change.
